QUESTIONS ON FLOODPLAIN MAPPING UPDATES?

The recent floodplain mapping updates conducted throughout Wisconsin have created many challenges for communities and countless questions from their residents.

There are a variety of factors that go into determining whether a property or structure is located in a floodplain. As registered engineers and land surveyors, OMNNI can help determine if a floodplain map is in error and analyze it to see if a revision is warranted.

OMNNI OFFERS FOLLOWING FLOODPLAIN EXPERTISE :

OMNNI Presentation: Floodplains

Elevation Certificate -

A survey of the building can determine whether a structure is located in or out of the floodplain. After assessing your risk, this document may be used to help eliminate the need for flood insurance or help determine your flood insurance rating.

Letter of Map Amendment (LOMA) -

A LOMA  will  determine if you are incorrectly located in the floodplain and will revise FEMA and local records to reflect accurate floodplain limits.

Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) -

A LOMR will remove the structure from the floodplain based on fill or changes in hydraulic modeling.

Conditional Letter of Map Revision (CLOMR) -

This document, can aid in the approval of a LOMR, when providing it with other required documentation.

 Local and WDNR Approvals -

OMNNI will work with local officials and WDNR if needed to obtain certain approvals.
