Appleton, Wisconsin—OMNNI Associates has received the award for excellence for development of the Town of Little River "Smart Growth" Comprehensive Plan. The award was presented to OMNNI by the Wisconsin Chapter of the American Planning Association (WAPA) at its annual convention held in Madison on September 26, 2002.

"The Little River Comprehensive Plan serves as a guide for town leaders to use when making important decisions regarding growth and development issues through the year 2020," says Amy Emery, AICP, Senior Planner at OMNNI Associates. "The plan was adopted by the town on September 25, 2001, making it one of the first "Smart Growth" plans to be completed in Wisconsin. The plan was subsequently accepted by the State of Wisconsin."

The WAPA awards are presented annually to recognize outstanding achievements in planning and to publicize those people and organizations whose activities advance planning in the state of Wisconsin.

OMNNI was recognized in the category of Planning Document-Small Jurisdiction (4,999 or smaller population).
