OMNNI Associates designed an asphalt mix using glass aggregates produced by Minergy-Neenah from paper mill sludge. The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) has subsequently approved use of this mix on WisDOT projects. Minergy has developed the world’s first facility in Neenah to recycle sludge into glass aggregate. Incorporation of the glass aggregate into an asphalt mix is a good application of this by-product material.
