Sidewalk Construction Inspection
(Limited Term)

This is a limited-term position to provide construction observation services for sidewalk replacement in the City of Fond du Lac. Responsibilities include observing the contractor’s work methods to verify compliance with project specifications, measuring final material quantities and interacting with property owners. The project is anticipated to extend from June through August. The ideal candidate will be pursuing a degree in civil engineering or construction management and have prior experience in concrete construction or material testing.

Geotechnical/Construction Materials Engineer

The successful candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering. Experience in geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing and/or Portland cement concrete and hot mix asphalt mix design is desired. Responsibilities will include coordinating geotechnical subsurface exploration field work, writing geotechnical reports as well as conducting and overseeing field and laboratory geotechnical and construction materials testing on private, commercial, municipal and WisDOT projects. This is an entry level position although candidates with a variety of experience would be encouraged to apply.

Construction Materials Testing Technician

The successful candidate will, as a minimum, have a High School Diploma. An Associate degree in Civil Engineering Technology or the equivalent experience (3 years) in construction materials testing is desired. Responsibilities will include field and laboratory geotechnical and construction materials testing on private, commercial, municipal and WisDOT projects as well as processing and reporting of field and laboratory test data. Construction experience and materials testing certifications will be a plus. This is and entry level position although candidates with a variety of experience would be encouraged to apply.

Airport Engineer

The successful candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or related field. The position includes design and construction administration for airport projects. In addition to design responsibilities a construction field assign may be necessary which will include material certification, quantity calculations, inspection reports, surveying and project record keeping. Construction experience, knowledge of Microstation, Eagle Point and WisDOT\BOA procedures and policies will be a plus. This is a project engineer level position although candidates with a variety of experience would be encouraged to apply.

Transportation Engineer

The successful candidate will have a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering and hold registered PE license or be able to obtain one within 6 months. The position requires 5 years of experience in the design of highway facilities. Any construction experience is a plus. Responsibilities will include design of highway facilities, writing reports, preparation of plans and specifications, quantity calculations, and communicating with people. Familiarity with WisDOT Facilities Development Manual, AASHTO Green book and WisDOT policies and procedures are required. Knowledge of Microstation and Eagle Point software would be helpful. This is a Project Engineer level position with an opportunity to grow into a Project Manager position.

Designer/CAD Drafter (Structural)

The candidate should have an associate degree and a minimum of 3 years experience in a structural environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting creating construction documents for structural projects; must be proficient in AutoCAD.
