Fond du Lac Sidewalk Management Program,
Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
Developed a sidewalk inspection and management program for the City of Fond du Lac. A field assessment is conducted each fall for all of the properties included in the sidewalk inspection district. The defective panels are recorded using a custom mobile GIS application. Following the field inspection, condemnation notices and inspection reports are sent to the affected property owners. During the construction phase each summer, sidewalk removals and installations are inspected, and contractor payments and property assessments are based on the recorded as-built quantities. Fond du Lac has noticed a significant reduction in the number of complaints and required follow-up inspections following the implementation of OMNNI’s inspection program.
Erosion Control Mobile GIS and
Database Application,
Town of Greenville, Wisconsin
Developed a Microsoft Access database application to manage the data associated with the construction site erosion control permits and inspections. Approximately 200 construction sites are permitted each year. The database application interfaces with a GIS application to map the active sites and the locations of the erosion control violations. A custom ArcPad application was developed for the Trimble GeoXT to assist with the field inspections. Following inspections, the database automatically generates Notices of Violation. Additional permit and inspection information is accessible via a web database.
Illicit Discharge Detection and Elimination Program,
Town of Grand Chute, Wisconsin.
Assisted the Town of Grand Chute in developing their illicit discharge program, including initial identification, location and screening of approximately 500 major and minor outfalls. The Town’s program included the development of a mobile GIS inspection application in ArcPad to run on the Trimble GeoXT handheld GIS unit. The application records the locations of municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) outfalls along with inspection data relating to the physical characteristics of the outfall, any discharge present at the outfall, and indicators of potential illicit discharges. The ArcPad application interfaces with ArcView and Microsoft Access to map the outfalls and generate outfall inspection reports with photos to comply with Wisconsin DNR stormwater permit requirements.
