Outagamie County Regional Airport
Wetland Mitigation Bank

The Outagamie County Regional Airport is continually making safety and operational improvements, which on occasion impact wetlands at the site. OMNNI is assisting the airport in developing a wetland bank to compensate for wetland losses at the airport. The project will restore an area two miles from the airport that was originally a wooded wetland, but has been drained and disturbed over the years. OMNNI is bringing together the airport, the Outagamie County Parks Department, and the Fox Valley Technical College to produce a restored wetland that meets the needs of the citizens of Outagamie County.

Apple Creek YMCA

A benefactor donated land to the YMCA of the Fox Cities for development of a nature preserve, and gifted an adjacent property to house the nature center, and eventually a full-scale facility. OMNNI is assisting the YMCA in preparing the site for development. The site contains four wetlands, one of which cannot be avoided during construction. OMNNI delineated the wetlands, and successfully obtained approval of a site plan, which will fill in the small unavoidable wetland, and enhance and restore the remaining wetlands.

CTH A, Gresham

Shawano County needed to realign CTH A to remove a dangerous curve. The new alignment required the filling of a wetland area. OMNNI delineated the wetland, and is working with state regulators in developing a wetland compensation bank for this and future Shawano County road projects.
